Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: October 29, 2025
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs use of the BrainStorm Technologies Ltd AI-powered mind-mapping and chat-mapping service (the "Service"). Capitalised terms have the meanings in the Closed Beta Test Agreement or Terms of Service. Violations may result in content removal, suspension, termination, IP blocking, and reporting to authorities.
1) Illegal or harmful content
You must not generate, upload, or transmit content that:
- is illegal or promotes illegal acts (e.g., fraud, hacking, copyright piracy, illegal drug sales);
- is harassing, hateful, or discriminatory, or incites violence;
- involves Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or any sexualisation of minors (zero tolerance);
- depicts or promotes graphic violence, self-harm, or suicide encouragement;
- discloses another person's private/identifying information (e.g., financial accounts, government IDs, health records) without explicit consent;
- constitutes non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) or "revenge porn".
2) AI misuse and model/platform abuse
You must not:
- attempt to jailbreak or bypass safety systems; probe or interfere with the Service or underlying models;
- generate or disseminate malware, phishing kits, or exploit code intended to cause harm;
- use outputs in high-risk contexts (medical diagnosis, legal advice to clients, financial advice, critical infrastructure, autonomous systems, weapons);
- engage in spam, bulk/automated account creation, or traffic that floods or degrades the Service;
- impersonate individuals or entities, including via voice clones, look-alike domains, or non-consensual deepfakes.
3) Intellectual property & data rights
You must not:
- upload or use content that infringes third-party IP or trade secrets, or breaches confidentiality or contracts;
- scrape, harvest, or copy the Service or others' content at scale;
- use Service outputs to train, fine-tune, or improve any competing foundation model or AI service;
- remove or alter proprietary notices or attempt model extraction or weight leakage.
4) Sensitive data & privacy (GDPR)
Unless we have agreed in writing and our DPA expressly covers it, you must not submit:
- special-category personal data (e.g., health, genetic, biometric, sexual life, political opinions, religious beliefs);
- children's data or data about criminal offences;
- payment card numbers, bank credentials, or authentication secrets.
You must have a lawful basis to process any personal data you upload and must not upload third-party data without authority.
5) Prohibited decision-making & professional advice
Do not rely on outputs as a substitute for professional judgement in medicine, law, or regulated financial advice, or deploy outputs as the sole basis for decisions with legal or significant effects on individuals.
6) Security testing and interference
You must not conduct penetration testing, load testing, or vulnerability scanning, or attempt to access data not intended for you, without our prior written permission. Do not circumvent rate limits, API quotas, or access controls.
7) Third-party model providers (flow-downs)
AI features invoke third-party model providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google). Their provider terms apply in addition to this AUP. Where provider terms and this AUP conflict, the more restrictive term controls regarding model use, including no benchmarking publication, no safety bypassing, no model extraction, and other prohibited uses.
8) Fair use, automation, and BYO API keys
- We may enforce rate limits and anti-abuse controls; do not evade or disable them.
- Do not resell, rent, or share access, accounts, or seats.
- If you connect your own API keys, you are responsible for their security, usage, and charges. Do not share keys or attempt to mask traffic origin.
9) Export controls, sanctions, and geography
You represent you are not a sanctioned person and will not use the Service in violation of UK export control or sanctions laws or other applicable trade controls.
10) Private beta confidentiality
If you are in the Private/Closed Beta, you must not share screenshots, videos, benchmarks, or results publicly and must comply with our Closed Beta Test Agreement confidentiality obligations.
11) Reporting abuse
Report suspected violations to abuse@brainstorm-map.com. Include URLs, timestamps, and examples where possible. We may preserve and disclose information as required by law and to protect users and the Service.
12) Enforcement; appeals
We may remove content, throttle usage, suspend or terminate accounts, block IPs, and notify competent authorities. If you believe an enforcement action was in error, contact appeals@brainstorm-map.com with details; we will review in good faith.
13) Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
